2026 Call for Proposals

CALL FOR PROPOSALS
2026 Annual Meeting – Ohio Valley Philosophy of Education Society
September 17-19, 2026, Nashville, Indiana

The President and Program Chair of the Ohio Valley Philosophy of Education Society
(OVPES) invite proposals that broadly interpret the theme— educational loss and hope — for
its annual meeting to be held at the Seasons Lodge in Nashville, Indiana, Thursday through
Saturday, September 17-19, 2026. We welcome proposals that make connections between
philosophy and education, both related and unrelated to the conference theme. OVPES remains a site for experimental thinking with educational and philosophical ideas in a collegial and friendly
environment.The deadline for submissions is May 15, 2026, and authors will be notified of decisions by July 15, 2026.

Interrogating Postdigital Educational Conditions

We are excited to announce a call for proposals for a special issue of Philosophical Studies in Education. This is a first for our journal, and coincides with the 50th anniversary of PSIE. There will be a pre-conference workshop for the accepted proposals, and accepted papers will be published in a special issue of PSIE, guest edited by Morgan Anderson and Graham B. Slater. To be clear, the special issue will be published in addition to and separate from our annual issue of PSIE, which will also be published this year. Click below on "learn more" to see the full call.

Registration and Lodging Fees

The registration deadline is August 16th, 2026.

Room Rate $139.00 (1-4 person occupancy) per night good until August 16th, 2026.

Each OVPES attendee should call the hotel directly to arrange a room reservation. Reservations must be guaranteed by the first night’s room rate with a credit card. Reservations will continue to be accepted after the cut-off date based on availability. Attendees must identify themselves as attending the OVPES meeting to receive the $139 rate. Cancellations are required 48 hours prior to the arrival date to receive a refund.
