CALL FOR PAPER SUBMISSIONS

For presenters at the 2007 OVPES Conference
“The Big Chill”: The Denial of Racial Discourse in Modern Philosophy

This call is for submission and review of manuscripts for the 2008 issue of Philosophical Studies in Education (PSIE). Please submit papers electronically to Awad Ibrahim via aibrahim@uottawa.ca by February 15, 2008. Authors are asked to follow the manuscript guidelines and procedures found below. Procedures for authors whose papers are accepted will also include submission on disk. In order for publication to proceed in a timely manner, we are asking that authors and reviewers act as quickly as possible.

Authors will be notified if their paper has been accepted for publication. The authors of accepted papers will receive further information on procedures for final submission.

MANUSCRIPT GUIDELINES AND PROCEDURES

Review Procedures

Manuscripts are sent out for blind peer review to the Program Committee. To maintain anonymity, authors should avoid self-identification in the text and in the footnotes of the manuscript. Papers failing to do so will be rejected. Please send a copy of your paper electronically to the address noted above. Please include your preferred mailing address in your email submission.

Format

Footnotes should be numbered in the text in accordance with the Chicago Manual of Style. Manuscripts accepted for publication but not in conformance with requirements will be returned to the author for revision. Manuscripts should not exceed 4500 words and should be saved as Microsoft Word documents. Authors of accepted manuscripts are also expected to submit their manuscripts on disk, saving one copy in its original format and one copy saved as rich text format (r.t.f.).

Author Responsibilities

Articles published in Philosophical Studies in Education do not necessarily represent the views of the editors, editorial assistants, the members of the Society, University of Illinois, University of Ottawa or Ohio University. The authors of the articles are solely responsible for ensuring accuracy of citations and references. The authors are solely responsible for ensuring that they do not infringe on copyright or violate any right of privacy. Proof copies of accepted manuscripts will be sent to authors for final approval. In the event that the proof copy is not returned by the stated deadline, the Ohio Valley Philosophy of Education Society will publish the paper as is.

Copyright

Authors warrant that they are sole owners of the material included in the paper and that the paper is original and has never been published in any form previously. Authors grant Ohio Valley Philosophy of Education Society all right to the paper including rights of copyright. Ohio Valley Philosophy of Education Society, in turn, agrees to grant permission to authors to republish their manuscripts subject only to the condition that Philosophical Studies in Education be given proper credit as the original source and Ohio Valley Philosophy of Education Society as original publisher.
